Just curious as to the sort of fuel economy your 109 is getting.
I'll be getting back to this after work this afternoon, but is your 109 heavily modified/ setup for touring or a custom bagger job/ and is it good on fuel or not?
Is it exactly where you thought it should be because mine seems to be up and down and all over the shop since purchase.
I assume it's just part of the run in process but the klm's in getting on a full tank seem to be unpredictable so far

For me mixed results , i now I can get 250 plus kms per tank, riding with the crew proves this. I still get worried around 220 or so. My other 9 I did poos. Fuel light came on around 200 kms , i was out so I thought I’ll be sweet getting home from Derdy’s shop. I get back to Bacchus Marsh and fill up. Tank takes $30.00 19.49 liters and I’d traveled 266.3 kms. I checked the pump the next day no faults at the bowser. I do have pics to prove this.

I get between 250 and 285 k's towing a fully loaded Elite camper trailer. variation is normally due to tail, or head wind.

Why would you get s 109 if fuel economy was an issue. Get a 50 if it’s a problem

i don't think the economy is the issue, the issue is, as far as i can tell, the unpredicatability.

Have you noticed your gauge drops it's 5 increments very very unevenly? VERY unevenly? I mean, my first tank got me 302klm. I was very happy with that. And I was pretty heavy on the throttle getting home admittedly.
2nd tank, same fuel up price and litres (almost the exact same) I got 290klm. Each tank has consistently made it about 10-13klm less. I have now seemingly hit a plateau where I get about 235klm plus/minus. Same price goes in at fuel up for the most part, as do the litres. And that's all solo riding without baggage.

On top of that, my guage wont drop it's first fuel incremement until about 145klm, the 2nd drops at 180klm or so. The 3rd / 4th / 5th all drop in the next 20 or 30klm. That's been consistent from the start and that annoys me a lot.

Yep that's normal. Fluctuations will occur at the pump depending on air ambient temp on the day

Let it go... it will consume you lol.

Could always put duct tape over the fuel display and just wonder when the fuel light will come on lol.

You can get over 45 klms with a flashing fuel light...I’ve tried it,sitting on 100 kph & flat Roads

The problem isn't the consumption, it's the unpredictability and the bizarre usage on the Guage. Seems lazy as far as design and implementation of the system goes.
The issue is more so when I get to 180klm, I am basically empty, or am I?

Haha yeah I could do a lot of things to ignore it ay.

I'd not try running it empty until I had saddlebags with a Lil 5ltr can in it
