Probably been asked in the past, but I'm looking at installing A-tre on my M50.... Yeah-yeah, your probably thinking why bother, just upgrade to a M109r? (eventually will, just not now).

Am wondering if anyone has installed both on their boulevard M50/M90 or M109 and if so, was there a noteable gain in performance when gear changing and if the throttle was smoother when accelerating or de-accelerating at gear changes?

I hear mixed reviews, but have read the advanced retard eliminator will not interfere with how the C5 normal functionality works (which is great).

I was thinking of getting a-tre (as i already have the C5 installed) from ebay ("Healtech GiPro Gear Indicator with ATRE - Red Display"), but not sure if it's any good. So curious to know what brand is recommended when mixing up a A-tre and C5 together?

Go the Healtech unit, it’s a good unit, it makes a noticeable difference on the 9, not sure about the other models...
I ran a ATRE and C5 on my 9 Until I got the ECU flashed...

Got a Healtech unit and installed over the weekend, took me forever to figure out what plug to use, but eventually installed it.

Adjusted for each gear to display correctly when changing them, but really have not noticed any difference. Is there a specific setting that must be set to work optimally?

I have no idea about settings for the M50 mate.
But you should see a difference in the lower rev range and smoother throttle response. Like I said in my first post, not sure with the other models how much difference you would see, but on the 9 it was a marked difference...

Jac the setting for cruisers is number 4. Where you'll notice the difference is when you go round abouts before you would have have a lag in the throttle when you twist the grip before acceleration would engage cause the jerking motion when maneuvering at low speeds. Now it should be a lot smoother through that transition

Ok, I'll play with the settings and set it at 4. And yeah, I did somewhat notice smoother throttle around the round abouts and less jerkiness on low gear.

Maybe I need to take it for a longer ride to get the proper feel of instead of just around the suburb .

    Thanks Crack...

Remember that it uses the same timing maps from 4th gear. Once you get to 4 and 5 and after about 75-80kms it doesn't do squat. It's only designed for gears 1thru 3 to standardise and remove the restrictions in lower gears.
So you will only benefit and notice around town.

if your thinking this will give you more go then think again, it's just to smooth out the throttle in the lower gears.

Ok. I put it on setting 4 and re-calibrated and took her for a ride wow, I definately notice smoother gear change on low gearing 1-3 than before.

Thanks guys for advice and Seanne for the brand to get .
