I did the good old Brisbane, Nerang, Numinbah Valley to Mirwillimbah and return via the Pacific Highway last Saturday on my recently acquired C109.

That’s the first time I’ve ridden that road in over 30 years, and the last time was on a sports bike. So the big old girl really had me tiptoeing around the bends and watching the bumps on the straights while I get used to every vibration, bounce, rebound and unique handling traits.

But by the time I hit the highway again at Mirwillimbah I was just exhilarated by the wind in my face and the open air. But the grin never left my face. Even an hour after I got home and had a shower (one of the conditions to getting a bike was that I have to armour up now) I was still grinning like an idiot.

It’s amazing how life can pass you by and you forget the simple joy a good ride can bring to your day, your mind, and your soul...

Hi Derdy - happy to pitch in!

Once I get my bike legs (toes? butt?) and my confidence improves again I’ll likely give a shout out when I’m planning a run to see who wants to meet up for coffee or lunch. It’s always more fun when you have a mate riding along at the same time!
