Hi all, new to here, looking at buying either a M109 or C90 this week, prefer the 109 but a little worried about the foward sitting possi on it, getting a little arthritic in the neck and shoulders. I know i can test ride it but what about the longer rides and can it be fixed easily - bars or risers? Thanks

Welcome Jim, Yep, there's many options with risers and bars. Also, a few different seats options which might help too.

    Gday Jim,

I suffer with multiple injuries and arthritis, there is multiple options for us on the M109R more so than the C90 but there are still options...

Thanks boys, funny, Dealer [mind you were talking regional Tassie here] don't think i could put risers on because they've already got biggish risers on the bike. Is the lean that much further forward anyway? Sorry to push other issues but i was reading some much older posts about common problems with 109 [which bike does not have them] such as clunky trans and clutch probs, have these been addressed in later models, after such a long run they should be pretty bulletproof by now. Have patience with me i want to make a quick decision this week, i'll quieten down once i've made my choice. Cheers

    All good Jim,

No problems here mate... I can only comment on the M109R (As that’s what I own).
Risers can be installed on any of the boulevard models... The risers can vary in size, but the most common is 2” up and 2” forwards.
There are different seats and other accessories (pegs and forward controls etc) to make your riding position better etc. Take no notice of the dealer!

As far as gearbox issues, yes the boxes are clunky between first & second as yes some of the earlier models had issues (some due to rider error) and yes the new models have been improved...

Don’t worry about asking questions mate, that’s why we are here...! So ask away...

Welcome Jim and congrats on thinking about a 9.
2" risers do not need extra cables but in saying that there is a need to re-route cables.
Plenty of info here on the forum.

This is a personal preference, As Tassie Dave has stated No you don’t strictly need to get longer cables and yes you need to reroute them.. However I personally believe that this causes issues in the long run and the best solution is to get longer cables...

GDay Jim, just my 2 cents worth, perhaps a test ride before committing to a 9, it's a big heavy bike and not for everyone.
you have the option of the M90 as well.
best option would be a test ride on all 3.
cheers and good luck with your decision.

Gday Jim, Welcome mate. If your after something more upright maybe look at a naked sportsbike? The clam shell seating position may not be for you?
