Ive picked up a cheap riders seat.
Looking to put a gel insert into it or some memory foam
    Can anyone recommend a brand?
Seems to be plenty on ebay vary from $20-$80 for a gel pad.

Ive got a old air hawk from my old bike
But thought id give this a go amd see what i can come up with

A mate does upholstery so ill get him to res stitch it up

Everyone bangs on about the suzuki gel seats. I had them and didn't rate them.
They come in half cut or full cut or booster seat (ask derdy).
TBH it was more the seating position it put too much pressure on my lower back.... I prefer a more upright seating position.
    Just my opinion...
If you know a guy I would try something different and try memory foam. Are you looking for more comfort or more/less reach to the bars?

Little bit more comfort and a bit more lower back support.
Im 6'4 so reaching the bars is not a issue

Yeah mate a better foam is a better option

Go get custom made, I’ve had both my seats moulded to suit my ass/riding position...
It’s going to cost you but well worth it in the long run...

Because i'm a tightass I modified my own.
I took 80% of the foam from the back of it so i could move back, coz it's cheaper than buying forward controls.
And I have an airhawk coz I'm old.

I want to do my own aswell.
I got a seat for $40 so if i fuck it up no sweat.
Did you replace any of the foam? Or just shave it down?

No, I left about 10mm there. Now I can move my ass about 2" rearward and stretch my legs out more.

I had my original seat modified, had some holes cut in to give a softer feel but it was still shit, both my missus as passenger and myself . decided to get the Suzuki gel front and back and have never looked back, they are awesome, I have spent many hours on the bike with no issues at all.

Yeah my misso reckons the gel passengers seat is awesome, but I feel more comfy on the stock seat over the gel.
I can ride Home to Newcastle (2.5hrs) on the stocker no worries, but had to stop for a rest with the gel.
All i really wanted to do was move my riding position back to be able to straighten my legs more. And $1000 for forward controls is retarded.

Ben if you have any back issues ?
My opinion on the gel seat, just do it. Forget all the advice and go buy one. I’d guarantee that you won’t be disappointed. I’d nearly go as far as to say if your not happy I’d buy it off you. It will sell as they are very popular. I’d nit be without it, people laugh but I have a woolen seat cover and that’s another level again.
Good luck mate , in one of the threads some fella has a detailed description for size. Standard or full cut.
