hopefully, they will replace the seal....just like they should have in the first place...
Yup. and I'm going to hit them up for a set of new brake pads as they're now trash
maybe they removed the bearings, found they were still in good condition, washed them and repacked them without drying them out properly and re installed your old bearings and when you rode it the cleaner they used and didn't clean out properly has oozed out spreading shit all over your disc.......just a thought...lol
I believe it to be a pinched seal !
Happened to me by a reputable business Too
What's the verdict! ?
Shop called - they say it's def a pinch in the seal and it's resulted in a small split. They're going to pull apart, clean and check and replace with a new seal - no charge, (incl cleaning the shite from the rim where it's had the splatters)
And we're discussing the cost of a set of brake pads - at the moment, I have them paying 75% for the pads.
Once the pads are in and the seals installed, we'll come to a final arrangement.
Whilst they have it apart ,get them to check/Do Spline grease !!!
Well, I'm glad that's over with.. Holy Crap indeed..
Today, (and a bit of last Friday) I replaced the 6 engine mounts.
What a prick of a job.
But, after the original mounts just falling out into my hand, I reckon they all needed doing.
The front ones were totally rooted, fucked one could say. What I thought was a split was actually space between the bush and the mounting.
The middle/top ones not too bad, but still fell out real easy.
The rears, almost as bad as the front. No wonder the engine was walking in the frame
While I was in the area, did the rear braided brake line too..
Now, sitting on the couch with ice packs on my knees
Well done Otta, bike is looking cool and the engine mounts would be the last major replacement, it may as well be a new bike as you've replaced basically everything, a new paint job , well done ,a shit hot outcome
The Storm commeth
Thanks Carni, appreciated
It's been a rewarding exercise. Hopefully I won't need to touch these things again for a while.
I'm waiting on some parts from the US, and it'll be back together real soon.
I was warned when I joined up here about the mod bug
Killing it otta. Braided lines i want all mine braided. Talk soon mate
All things considered, this should be my last post here on rebuild and upgrades..
I reckon I'm finished doing mods and changes to the 9 and now just want to ride it...
This is the last mods and changes that I have done since the engine mounts:
longer and braided throttle cables
braided rear brake line
front half custom wiring loom with braided coverings on the wiring loom
auxiliary 12v switched and fused system for additional power
integrated phone charger to bars with phone mount
2016 model full clutch kit including plates, basket, hub and springs
hydraulic clutch conversion
pulled secondary and final drive, descaled the build up of crap and greased all splines and new seals (they were bone dry)
rider and pillion gel seat
full electronic cruise control and braided custom wiring harness
As I mentioned, I reckon that's it.. time to go riding.
I do want the rear luggage rack that bolts to the factory backrest, but that's after xmas and when the bank balance recovers a bit
I would like to say a huge thanks to all those, (if I named you all individually, we'd be here along time) who have helped, guided and supported me along this journey. I couldn't have done it without your support.
Awesome work mate. Time and money well spent. Hope to share many rides with that beast of yours.
Looking forward to drooling over it on Sunday.
Well done darlin
Please may we see a final pic & a ride pic when you take it out
