    Ulaa,
Happy to help organise the Western Box Ride will just need to get some Nullabor stops details from you and JR. while it is still fresh in your mind and and meet point in Adelaide.
Any interested WA riders let me know and we can work together to plan things.

    Mark,
If you want to get across asap I would pretty much do this to cross the Nullarbor:
Get to Norseman: Stay where we stayed at the Railway Motel, the lady who runs it is a bit loopy but the rooms are really nice and cheap.
Norseman to either Madura or Eucla. It depends on how far you want your run to be, Madura is 520km, Eucla is 700km, the Eucla motel is a LOT nicer.
Madura to Ceduna is 672 km, or 472 km from Eucla, you get the idea.
Stop at the Nullarbor Roadhouse and get the I crossed the Nullarbor certificate signed, stop at the head of the bight and watch the whales

In Ceduna stay at the Big4 Camp site (Petrol right outside and pub just down the road)
Walk down to the Ceduna Hotel and have dinner, its a great view and really good food.

Ceduna to Port Augusta (accom to be confirmed by River cloaser to the date) where we will all meet. We will have a 2 day break for you at Augusta which you will need.

Just been reading about your awesome trip that lays ahead and noticed there are some fuel concerns. I have a few ideas that may help instead of carrying bulky jerry cans. My last two trips i have used these and they are great. They are called ROTPAX. They are sold online at Adventure moto and Snake racing. You need to get the bracket that holds the rotopax as well. You can get a bracket that joins two rotopax together if need be.

    3.8 L - 1 GALLON, 340 X 240 X 76
    6.6L - 1.75 GALLON 380 X 345 X 89
    7.6L - 2 GALLON 450 X 340 X 76
    11.4L - 3 GALLON 405 X 380 X 115

OR fuel bladders come in different sizes as well. The good thing about these are once emptied they lay flat on top of your bag.
The ones on my bike are 3.8L, that gives me around 80kms on my DR 650.

And i think there guaranted not to leak so you might be able to just put them in your bag. Just a thought, hope it helps.

I've done several long trips around and across Australia, and the only trip I am yet to do is the one up the guts. I'm very interested. I live in Tasmania east of Hobart, so that would take some preparation and planning. Please keep me in mind!

Ulaa, I figured it was easier to post here rather than double tapping via PM as well.

Well, I'm up in Darwin now and fairly settled. I still want to join for the Qld box starting at Darwin and heading south.

By the time you guys get here, I should have my own personal garage (I'm a mechanic) well and truly sorted for those that like to do their own maintenance, I'll have access to the workshop where I work, and I'll be spending the next few months sussing out good bike mechanics for the more indepth jobs. I also hope the Suzuki dealer will come on board and hook us up with some discounts for any servicing parts/tyres and other bits.

We'll also put on the BBQ one night for the attendants and even have a fair bit of floor space for those that are still interested in roughing it while they're here.

I also should have a fairly large list of day trips/loops including a decent loop that will include Kakadoo National Park.

All in all, I'm hoping to be able to look after all aspects of this part of the trip and I'm slowly dragging a few of the local bully riders together as well to join in any local activities.

    Hi Wally,
    If you look at this:
    http://ozboulevards.com/index.php?threads/tentative-route-sydney-to-darwin-and-back-to-sydney.8376/

You will see the proposed route.
    To answer your questions:
KM's per day are in the plan linked above.
We aren't planning on running hard and fast. We want to see the country and will take our time to do so. Where there are long/big days its because generally there is nothing in between the two points.
The longest single run between fuel stops I understand is about 280KM. A moderately ridden 9 will make it, or plan to bring a fuel bladder.

25 days if you do the whole loop from Sydney with us.
    Approximately 9500km
Support - None, no one has put there hands up as support vehicle. Me and JR did Sydney to Perth without a support vehicle no problems. I would suggest that you have your bike fully serviced and fresh tires before we go. Adelaide to Darwin is only about 2700km so I doubt a well maintained 9 is going to have a problem before we get somewhere it can get fixed.

Plan for 200$/day (100$/day accommodation, 50$/day food, 50$/day fuel) We are also planning on going and doing day trips etc to see the places we are staying so that will be on top of. I am planning to pre pay a lot of this so I will spread the cost out across the year.

Sorry all but due to an illness with my Aunty I will be unable to do this ride as I will be taking her for a ride down the NSW South Coast on a Harley in October.
Sorry that I won't be able to arrange the box ride back through the Northwest of WA.
