Hi people,I have bought as TRE for my C109 and for the life of me I cant find the plug to conmect it to.
The instructions say it is on the right hand side under the tank, and the wiring is blue, black and pink.
If anyone has fittted a TRE could you please help me to find it.
    Thanks

Hi Chris. From memory it was lower than the tank on the right hand side basically straight opposite the key and behind the plastic cover. See how that goes?

I want a TRE for my M90. It stops the low speed surging apparently? Is it possible to report back if it's worth the $60 please? Lol

I had one on my previous C109 and it certainly smoothed out the throttle in the lower gears.
    Well worth it

Fitted my new TRE a couple of days ago and went for a ride.
Huge difference in the smoothness in the lower gears. Cheap mod ,and well worth it.

Getting one fitted to my m90 now because I've only heard and read good things. Much smoother power delivery in the lower gears. It's a lot cheaper for the m90 because the m90 doesn't have the gear indicator.

What happened to old fart cruiser bloke making them?

They are worth about 20 bucks I remember back in 2006 the filthy dealers tried to sell me one for $199

How does it compare to the Bully EFI Controller?

My very basic understanding and I am no technocrat by any stretch is that the Power Commander remaps fuel delivery with the view to increasing power whereas the TRE manipulates the firing sequence for smoother acceleration in lower gears. I stand to be corrected.

I just bought one of these from Gman and for a C109 with no gearshift indicator, it was around $85 posted from the USA.

Still trying to work out how to get that bloody right side plastic cover off though, it's not obvious at all. But then I did try looking after being awake for over 24 hours and flying home from work after night shift.

Ok, so I had another look and couldn't see any way the plastic cover attached, so I got brave and just pulled at it a bit, and thankfully it came off. Which revealed the plug I needed to access right there in plain sight.

I've now fitted and secured the TRE, started the bike (no FI light so that's a good start) and from cold it was nicely responsive to light throttle sitting in the garage. I'll take it out this afternoon and give it a test run. But looks good so far.

Fitted mine a couple of weeks ago and it works great, but it seems to ping or detonate a bit more.
I fixed it by changing the heat range of the spark plugs, but I don't remember if I went hotter or colder .
Any one know whic way to go?
    I know it works

So I took it for a ride and there's a definite difference. Hasn't taken away the whole issue but it's definitely lessened it. Maybe I was expecting more after hearing about the experiences of others.

Overall an improvement, and once you know where to look it's easy enough to fit.

    So, update...

Seems it was wishful thinking on my part about smoothing things out. I actually emailed Gman Industries, and Gary, the bloke who makes them, confirmed for me that they're NOT designed to smooth out throttle response, they're designed to give more power in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. Gave it some beans today on country roads and it's bloody frightening.

So power is good (yay) but my original issue still exists, in that light throttle in gear - especially coming off deceleration for an intersection as an example - is jumpy and not reliable or smooth.

There's a power commander chip been fitted in the past (don't know which version, but it's under that right side cover) and I'm wondering if this issue is something that tuning the power commander could fix. Or could it be sorted by removing the power commander altogether? I'd guess that's a possibility, but it's not something I'd take on myself. Too scared to make the bike unusable.

If a trip to a tuner is worthwhile, can anyone recommend somewhere in Perth for this? Preferably northside, and not a Herley dealer which will want to rape my wallet.

    Cheers
